Enhance and make your home feel sentimental with home crafted paper baubles. This is a great way to make use of spare gift bags, brown wrap or colourful card.
Follow our step-by-step guide below.
Step 1: Assemble Materials
You will need reasonably thick paper / card (enough to cut out 12 circles from), something circular for your template (the base of a glass is good), a pen of pencil, scissors, glue and string.
Step 2: Create Folded Circles
Cut out 12 even-sized circles from your card. Fold each one sharply down the centre.
Step 3: Glue Into Pairs
Taking two folded circles at a time, glue together by attaching one half of each to the other (i.e. semi-circle to semi-circle).
Step 4: Glue Pairs Into an (almost) Whole
Once you have glued the 12 circles into 6 pairs, gradually glue each pair together in the same form, pressing semi-circle sides together, until you almost have a complete bauble shape. Just leave the very last segment unglued while you attach the string.
Step 5: Add the String
Cut a length of string, form a loop at the top and glue the non-looped end onto the final segment of bauble. The loop must be at the top, so you can use it to hang from your tree. Position the string sitting as close to the centre of your bauble as possible, so your bauble will hang evenly.
Step 6: Finish and Hang
With your string in place, glue the final section of bauble down and leave to dry. Your paper bauble is now ready to hang proudly from your tree, or anywhere else around your home!
