A hardy bulbous perennial plant. Flowering in May with lavender-blue star shaped flowers on a tall spike with long narrow leaves. It can be planted in full sun, but does tolerate some shade, in most types of soil. Use in mixed herbaceous borders as a contrast to dark backgrounds or even in a meadow style planting.
