Product Details

Ultimate Size: 9m high x 3m wide after 25 years

The Cardinal Royal Mountain Ash, also known as Sorbus aucuparia ‘Cardinal Royal’, is a charming deciduous tree perfect for smaller projects in your garden.

With its rounded or oval-shaped crown and upward-reaching branches, this tree creates an appealing silhouette, adding a neat and tidy touch to your outdoor space. In springtime, it bursts to life with clusters of white flowers arranged in corymbs, offering a delightful contrast against its deep green, serrated leaves.

What truly sets this cultivar apart is its stunning autumnal display. As the seasons shift, its foliage transforms into a vibrant array of rusty oranges and rich reds, adding a splash of colour to your landscape. And let's not forget about the striking red berries that adorn the tree in late summer and early autumn, not only adding visual interest but also providing a tasty treat for our feathered friends.

While its abundant fruit makes it a favourite among jelly and jam makers, it's worth noting that unlike the sweet Edulis variety, the Cardinal Royal's berries are not meant for raw consumption to avoid any tummy troubles.
